Day 0: Sunday June 9th, 2024: Today was just a travel day. Alicia made amazing scrambled eggs with sausage in it, at 7am for us. We left around 7am, and traveled about 400 miles to Elizabethtown, Kentucky. We arrived around 6:30pm. Trucks did relatively well. My dad’s C10 pickup seems to run hot on the freeway. May need to install an electric fan to help cool things down.
Day 1: Monday June 10th, 2024: We got up around 7am. Had breakfast at our hotel in Elizabethtown, and hit the road. First stop was Advance Auto Parts, where we decided to work together and install a electric fan on the front of the radiator of the C10. We then hit the road for Bowling Green, KY. We had minimal issues. The C10 is staying cooler now. We safely arrived in Bowling Green, checked in, got our Long Haul Credentials and made it to the venue at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, KY. Look at all the cars parked in the field. (See below).
Day 2: Tuesday June 11th, 2024: We got up pretty early. Around 6am. We packed up in Bowling Green and hit the road for Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, TN. This is the furthest south the trip goes this year. Once again, beautiful weather. Saw lots of cool cars. Here are a few pictures. By the way, traffic was crazy today!
Day 3: Wednesday June 12th, 2024: We got up and said goodbye to Lebanon, Tennessee and are heading to back north to Louisville, Kentucky. Traffic was much better today, we spent most of the day at cruising speed.
Day 4: Thursday June 13th, 2024: Once again, up early (trying to keep ahead of massive bumper to bumper traffic). We skipped the hotel breakfast this morning, in favor of stopping at Hardys. We said goodbye to Louisville, KY and are headed to Hebron, OH to visit National Trail Raceway. This is about a 240 mile trip.
